LIGHT PAINTING: Don't just photograph it, really make it POP

Painting with light, also known as Light Painting, is a lighting technique involving a long exposure and a handheld continuous light source or sources. To paint with light, the camera is mounted on a tripod in a dark environment that is dark enough to use a long exposure without "blowing out" the image. The light source is moved around to selectively illuminate parts of the subject and its surroundings. A typical light painting consists of anywhere from 10 to 30 or more photos which are ultimately combined into one.

Light painting is a great technique for highlighting products, machinery, vehicles and architecture.
